A Redwork Biscornu

Ashs_biscornu2

I received this lovely eight corner pincushion/bsicornu from my exchange partner, Ashleigh, today.  It is absolutely gorgeous and it has made my day!  I am actually still working on my cushion.  They have to be mailed out by the 15th of this month.  I am spoiled by getting mine early!  Ash always does such exceptional work!  She says the pattern is from the Ackworth book (which I have yet to buy--now more temptation seeing this pattern!).  She stitched it with Gloriana silk floss in Poinsettia.  She also sent along a lovely postcard of Holland and a notepad from Kunst & Vliegwerk, a mailorder needlework shop which I am not familiar with.  It may be dangerous to look around there too much, but I plan to do so anyway! Many thanks Ash--I love this!!  Biscornus are my favorite little needlework accessory I think!  Another to add to my small collection.  Now I better go finish mine!

Thats a lovely piece of art!! Ash did a wonderful wonderful job :)

That's lovely! :)

Kunst & Vliegwerk have a wonderful little book (like the WMN one) I think you'd like ;)

What a pretty piece with the Quaker pattern!
I especially like the running stitch/Back Stich? all around...

Didn't she do an excellent job!! Nicki I will have to look up their books!! I love the running stitch border, too, Merumo. I will have to try that on mine. She also used a khaki/green fabric for the bottom, which sets off the stitching nicely!

It's a gorgeous excahnge piece, congratulations to you both

What a beautiful exchange gift from Ash!

You're so lucky, Danielle! It's a gorgeous piece of work. :D

Lucky you, Danielle. You have got a beautiful Biscornu...so wonderful.
