I've still got a bit of stitching to do on my BOAF bee skep, but I am nearly there. Had I not been ill last weekend, I think it would be finished now. Oh well, I'll get there.
I wanted to share my next project. I recently ordered Wendy KC Designs, "Strawberry Bag with 3 Sweeties" and have been studying the instructions. Is anyone planning on stitching this? I have to admit I am a little confused by the instructions. I'm not sure who to ask for clarification. I've not yet stitched and finished a bag like this, though I know more or less how to make the accessories.
In case anyone is working on this and happens by...my questions so far:
There are two pieces of linen--if I understand the instructions the smaller piece is for the bottom of the bag, however the illustration shows the larger piece for the bag, a few of the accessories and the smaller piece is for the rest of the accessories.
The instructions call for basting along the short side on one side. Which side do I choose?
I believe I start stitching on the right side and work to the left and the bag patter gets repeated four times with ten threads in between.
Should I cut apart my linen for the accessories, or wait until I've got everything stitched?
I'm sure I'll have more questions as I go. I also have a feeling that as I begin stitching it will make more sense, but I'm a visual person and wish there were more illustrations on how to do this.
Any help is appreciated!
Gosh, I wish I could help you out on this. It's a great project though. Hope that someone out there has ordered this too and can make some sense out of the instructions for you.

Debbie--It is pretty, isn't it. I think once I get going it will be clearer. I can always email Lois at Elegant Stitch as she's helped me with things in the past or the designer--hopefully her email address is on the chart!

I would be inclined to leave the linen in one piece until it was stitched. I haven't seen this one in person, though, so can't say for sure.

Cindy--I'm a little afraid of cutting as if I make a mistake it'll mess it all up. I need to lay things out and look at them and compare to the illustrations.

Sorry I can't help with this. Sometimes I just don't stitch projects because the instructions don't make sense. I am a visual person and need pictures to help me do these things. Words just confuse me more.
Looks like a beautiful project though.

Suzanne--I'm totally visual, too. I have to be able to picture something before I feel comfortable doing it. I think that's why I love Just Nan charts and finishing kits--wonderful photos!

What a pretty project.
I haven't seen this piece before, so I have no idea on what you should be doing, but I would recommend contacting the designer.
Often, I give up on following instructions, and will finish it based on what I think they should be!
