Last weekend I was almost ready to give up on this one, but happily I stuck with it and have a little rhythm going now. As a matter of fact I stitched every day last week, something I haven't done in a really long time--even if it was only for fifteen or twenty minutes before going to bed. Borders are nice, repetitious things to work on when stitching time is limited. Usually I get in most of my stitching on Saturday and Sunday evenings. I've also done a little over-one stitching. I am heeding the advice I received on my previous post and trying to stitch just a little bit of the over-one motifs as I go rather than waiting until the end. I did notice a couple of mistakes--one I am not going to pick out (the over-one square on the right is off one thread--who will notice?) and one I did pick out and re-do (the border was off--one too many stitches and it wasn't matching up). But so far so good. I didn't really pay attention to the dimensions of this (it had been kitted up years ago), so I hadn't realized how small it really is. I like it, though. I think I will make it into a little pillow and I have the fabric for it already in mind (will have to dig through my fabric bin!).
I've got all the supplies ready to work on my "Valentine Wabbit" by Sheepish Designs. Everything except the ribbons of course. It calls for three different silk ribbon colors--red, rose and cream in 4mm width. I am hoping I can find it at Michaels. If not can anyone think of a good source online to order silk ribbon?
This weekend I hope to work on my Quaker Heart freebie and perhaps start one of my new projects! Have a nice weekend everyone!
I love that GH Sampler Farm. It's on my to-stitch list though I'm not looking forward to over one bit! The little bunny looks cute.

Glad you decided to keep stitching on Sampler Farm, it's looking great! I made mine into a pillow and really love how it turned out.

The little Wabbit is so sweet. I have this one too, I once received it in a Valentine exchange. Unfortunately the Wabbit charts are not available any longer.
Great to know that you continue on Sampler Fram. I'm sure it's worth it, it's such a beautiful design.

Your GH Sampler Farm is looking so beautiful! I'll look forward to seeing it complete. Good luck finding the ribbon - I don't know of a source but hope you find one.

I've gotten silk ribbon from Threadart: http://www.threadart.com/shop/ They have an ebay store, too. I'm looking forward to seeing your wabbit. :o)

Hi, try this site (put "silk ribbon" in the search engine): http://www.victoriancottagetreasures.com/ They seem to have a lot of different crafts, although I have not ordered from them, so I don't know how they'll be. There's a woman who has a needlework blog called "just string" that does lots of surface embroidery--she might be able to help.

If you can't find what you need at Michaels let me know and I'll have a look through my silk ribbon stash and see if I have anything that will be suitable :)

Melissa--I'm not a very good over-one stitcher, but so far so good. I've been concentrating on the border and other easy things, can you tell! :)
KarenV--I'm glad I didn't set it aside either, now it is almost all I want to work on. I will have to see if you have a picture of yours in your photo album!
Brigitte--I wonder if Sheepish Designs is even putting out charts now? I have three of the rabbit charts and hope to stitch them all. They are very cute--though I have never used/attached ribbon like that--it will be an adventure.
Terri--I hope it won't take me long to finish The Sampler Farm--I'd like to get in a bigger finish soon. And I think I have some sources for the ribbon, so I am sure I will find it somewhere.
Debbie--Thanks. I do that sometimes-when something gets a little complicated or I mess up I set it aside--I need to try and keep working on my projects (and finish more than I start). I like the colors, too.
Terri--Thanks so much, I was hoping someone would have a suggestion or two!
Glenna--Thanks--I'll check this one out, too. I was afraid I would have everything except the ribbon. I didn't find what I needed at Michaels, but you can usually find what you need somewhere on the web!
Anne--Thanks--Michaels didn't have any ribbon that would work. I will try the sites that people have given me first and let you know if I can't find any. I have lots of satin ribbon, but nothing that small or in those shades. Part of the reason I want to stitch it is the cool ribbon!

OH! abcstitch.com has rainbow gallery silk ribbon in 4mm (and also 2mm). I've ordered lots from abcstitch and like them.

Glenna--Thanks--I've heard of them before and have them bookmarked, so will look there as well!

Your piece is looking wonderful and I'm so glad you're back in the groove with your stitching.

Suzanne--Thanks--it is starting to take shape!
Patti--Yay--it's so nice to be stitching again, even if it is only for a short time each evening. Still, it's amazing what you can accomplish in a half hour or so every night! Now so I don't go crazy buying new stash!!
