It was my goal yesterday to finish the alphabet on my Quaker Heart freebie and do the backstitching around the heart (I plan on making this into a pincushion), and then maybe even put in the first few stitches on the reverse side's design. I'm afraid I got a little wrapped up in what I was watching, however, Emma on Masterpiece Theatre. I think I like this remake the best and will have to buy it for my little DVD collection (I only buy movies I know I will enjoy watching more than once). There are two Jane Austen books I've not yet read, and Emma is one of them, and this made me want to pull out my copy and start reading right away. As I'm rereading Pride and Prejudice at the moment I will save it for later. I stitched during the news and then was just too tired and it was getting too late to add those final letters. So I'll finish them tonight instead. And maybe I can start working on one of my other Valentine projects now that it is officially February.
Just curious--when and where do you stitch? I used to take my stitching with me to work, but as breaks and a short lunch is just not enough time to really make any progress (by the time I pull out my work and find my place my break is usually half over), I've stopped dragging it with me (to say nothing of letting it get wrinkled in my bookbag). Now I stitch for a while in the evenings right before I go to bed, and actually stitch in bed! The bad thing is I am either too tired to work long, or would like to work for a while, but I have to get up early in the morning, so try and turn the lights out at a reasonable time. Weekends are my prime stitching time generally, though I also try and get caught up on computer related things as well (emails, blog reading). Oh to have a few more hours in the day--or three day weekends every weekend!
It's looking wonderful, and you're almost there! I used to stitch more when I was on shift work in a call centre ... some down time occasionally on the overnight, and extra days off during the week were great for stitching - now I'm a 9-5 gal (well, actually it's often more like 9-7!), I stitch very little during the week ... but I tend to be lazy on the weekends and have been known to shut myself away and stay in my PJ's all day just stitching to my heart's content :D I love selfish weekends like that!

Your heart is so pretty and so close to done! I used to stitch at work at lunch but I've gotten so busy that I rarely get the time anymore. I do most of my stitching in the evening - I try to get in an hour or two after dinner, dishes, laundry, help with studying, whatever... It's not much and I have to go to bed pretty early since I get up at 4:45. Weekends I get some done but am usually running errands so again, back at it in the evening.

The heart is looking lovely! My stitching happens mostly in the evenings, but I do get some daytime stitching at weekends.

Your heart is looking so sweet! I used to stitch on my lunch hours when I was working and when I could get a lunch, which sometimes was a challenge. Now I usually stitch in the evenings. I try to get up early on the weekends before everyone else is up and stitch, but sometimes I like to sleep in too, so it doesn't happen as much as I would like.

Sweet heart! I love that pattern!
I mainly stitch in the evenings after dinner. I spend a lot of time stitching on the weekend - all of Friday and Saturday evenings and most of Sunday afternoon and evening.

AnneS--I also have a regular work schedule and find it hard to get much done at night during the work week. I'm all for those lazy weekends, though I tend to have lots of errands to do and house stuff to get caught up on--ugh.
Terr--Wow, that is early! I used to have a half hour before I started my shift and I would stitch at work, but things have changed, so now I just read for a while and stick to a book on my breaks as well!
Giovanna--Thanks. I tend to spend too much time on the computer--I should limit myself and would have a little more 'me' time, but there is always so much to get caught up on.
Debbie--I also like to sleep in. Sometimes I will do a little stitching when I get up on the weekend--I think I would have more energy, but I usually end up doing it at the end of the day.
Joanie--So much stitching time--that sounds wonderful. I need some serious uninterrupted time to work on projects--I am sure I could accomplish more than I am at the moment. Still, it all adds up!

The heart is looking great. I have a random work schedule so I sneak in a few stitches here and there. We get a long lunch so I am able to take "something" for lunch. But I do find that since I do not the am coffee rutine that I take a few moments to stitch. A good way to start the day a cup of tea and a few stitches done.

This is a beautiful piece; I'm tempted to try finding it myself! But, I will remain strong and finish what I've got. :D
Thank you for sharing the link to your blog with me; I looked around a bit and you nave many beautiful WiPs!!

Michelle--I used to take my stitching to work when I had more time before I started, but my scheduled changed, so it really doesn't work out anymore. I tend to put in a few stitches right before bed and spend weekend time stitching.
Beritbunny--Thanks it's an enjoyable design to stitch! I know how easy it is to be tempted to new designs--I do that myself and need to stay more focused. Thanks very much for dropping by here as well. I've not been stitching much in the last few years and want to get back into things--I can see I've missed a lot and have lots of new blogs to discover.

It looks great Danielle, I haven't finished my heart yet, need some daylight to do that.

The heart is so pretty. I just to pull mine out and stitch on it.
I usually stitch at the dinner table, which is my makeshift craft table at the moment. Otherwise, once the children are in bed, I stitch in front of the TV. I usually just listen and stitch.

Annemiek--Light is a problem in winter, isn't it? I hope to finish mine before the 14th anyway--the other projects I just want to work on during February.
Suzanne--Thanks. Are you stitching the same heart? It's such a nice freebie. I do my finishing using the dinner table, but of course then it needs to be all cleared off--so I like working upstairs in my own room. I also watch movies or TV when stitching--though I tend to listen more than watch.
