Can it possibly be more than a week since I last posted anything? I have things to share, but I can't seem to get photos taken and posts written lately in a timely manner. The light has been awful, too--no sun, so I just brought my latest finish next to the window and hoped for the best!
I stitched this design years and years ago, and decided it was finally time to sew it into something. I couldn't even remember what it was called and had to look at the Bent Creek website to figure it out. It is the "Plum Berry Sampler".
I like the simplicity of Bent Creek designs, but I don't stitch them very often these days. They are great for stitchers who are just starting out, though, which I was at the time I worked on it. I love the little square buttons and the specialty stitches dividing the rows of letters. And the sweet blue bird!
I have not had a chance to pull out my sewing machine in order to sew the last two designs I found in my finished bin (along with that recent Fourth of July pin pillow I made). Maybe I'll have a day off from work soon and can get to it then. However, I have been making a little progress on a few other designs, which I will share soon!
Cute! It looks great with the fabric border.

Karen--Thanks. I love this fabric and have used it before. It matched perfectly and even has a sort of trellis/vine design on it that seems to work nicely with the bird.

This came out great, Danielle! I love both the design and the pillow finish. I'm so finishing phobic...sigh! But I love looking at finished pieces! Thanks, Nancy D.

Such a wonderful finish Danielle. Love the fabric that you chose to put it together with.

Nancy--Thanks. I like finishing designs into pillows as that is one thing I can usually manage fairly easily on my sewing machine--but finishing is definitely not my strong point and I am a Very Slow finisher!
Debbie--I thought that fabric looked good with the design and was happy I had it in my stash. It's fun matching up designs with fabric. Thanks for the kind words.

Love that design! You did a beautiful job on the finish. I'm surprised you actually found any useful info on BC's website, they need some serious webmaster help.

It's a very cute pillow, well done!

Pretty finishing--I know what you mean about lousy light and the inability to corral the various elements into a post. Maybe it's spring fever for us! :P

I smiled when I saw your picture of Plumberry sampler because I stitched it when I got back into stitching a few years ago. It's one of my favorite designs. :-)

Darling finish! You did a great job finishing it into such a cute pillow!

Love how you've finished this cute design.

Emily--Honestly, the site really is a bit of a mess, isn't it? I just remembered it was a smallish chart, so lucked out!
Giovanna-Thank you!
Beritbunny--Where has the sun been? And I don't seem to have as much time again now that I have yard work to deal with! Argh. Oh well, the weather has been reasonably nice so shouldn't complain!
Joanie--Isn't that a cute design--I loved doing those specialty stitches! And it is a perfect design for someone just starting out (or someone very well versed in stitching, too!).
Terri--Thanks--Pillows are my thing when it comes to the sewing machine--nothing too difficult please.
Lois--Thanks!
