I had every intention of working on my little Prairie Schooler design, "Rain, Rain" but I discovered I was missing a few floss colors and was too lazy to go searching for them through my bins. Since my Mystery Sampler was close by I added a few more stitches here instead. I do have a question--if anyone happens by who has been working on this design as well--part one has several smyrna stitches--at least that is what they look like on the chart. There is no instructions for them, what color to use, etc. They go next to the flower on the left with the bird sitting on top of it. I am guessing they call for the same green as the flower stem but would like to make sure before stitching the smyrnas. Any ideas?
I am hoping tonight to finally start stitching on one of my freebies--will share photo this week if I do!
This is looking good! :D Looking forward to some freebie action! The only other person I know who has done the Mystery Sampler is Edgar (http://blacksheepsite.blogspot.com/).
So, he might know.

Nice progress! Gio's recently finished stitching this, so it might be worth asking her or checking out the picture on her blog.

Looks great! They're Algerian eyelets actually, and yes, I did them in the same thread as the flower stem - I think I just deduced both bits of information from the chart picture (probably squinting through a magnifier, lol).

You're making great progress on this. Hope that someone was able to help you with your questions. If you don't know how to do a Smyrna Stitch, check YouTube - there's always things on there that can help you out.

Beritbunny--I will have to look through his archives and see how he did the stitches-thanks for the link!
Karen--It's finally starting to look like something! :) I love seeing Gio's progress--it always spurs me on a bit, too, though I have a long way to go still.
Giovanna--Oh, I am so glad I asked! I will have to look up Algerian eyelets now! It is hard to tell on the chart, isn't it!
Debbie--Slowly but surely! Smyrnas are pretty easy, but I am sure I can figure out an Algerian eyelet if I go a google search!

You are making great progress on your sampler. They are smyrna crosses and not algerian eyelets. I stitched them in the same green as the stems, I think it is Moss. If you look in the third mystery bonus, you will see the algerian eyelets are a different symbol.

Suzanne--Thanks--I think I like the idea of stitching smyrnas better--they are easier for me! :) I'm itching to work on this again and hope I can find some time soon. I need to study the charts a little closer I think.
