Just in time for summer I've had my "No Bees No Honey, No Work No Money" sampler framed. I am quite pleased with how it turned out and the lovely folks at Ginger's Hang Up here in town did a marvelous job on it. They stretched it perfectly! And they also helped me decide on a frame, which I am pretty hopeless at doing myself!
I have to share a close up of the frame itself. I love the little detailing on the edge--very subtle but makes it looks just a little more interesting. And the color works nicely with the brown shades in the wording.
See how nice and taut it is? It really is stretched perfectly. And to think of all the slight creases in it when I dropped it off (even after ironing it). There is a slight padding behind the fabric, so it is cushioned. Unfortunately you can't tell from the photo, but the linen is hand-dyed and there is a lovely variegation to the color of the linen. It looks a bit more taupe/brown here, but the color of the linen is really much warmer and not at all washed out looking as it appears here.
Here is a close up once again of the design. This is one of my very favorite finishes! I think I will hang it next to a Prairie Schooler garden design, which also has a bee skep in it! Will share photos when it is finally on the wall. It's so expensive to frame projects, so I am always very happy when I have something new to add to my small collection!
Beautiful! I love this design and have it languishing in my stash. Your framer did a good job picking the moulding.

Valerie--I loved working on this design--it was so relaxing for me for some reason. The lady who helped me pulled lots of mouldings out and we compared and contrasted and looked at prices...I think this one works well.
Patti--Thanks. It's one of my favorite designs so I am excited to have it stitched and framed and ready to be displayed!
Terri--Thanks. I wish I could frame, but I am not sure I would have the patience. It was well worth the money.

What a beautiful "finish" to your work. Lovely! Thanks for sharing. I'm starting to get attached to this design; wonder if I'll stitch it sometime. :D

Beautiful! What a great framing job. I have this chart in the stash and remember hunting it down as it was one I "had" to stitch, that was at least 3 years ago now and still it waits, lol! Maybe I should start it now!

That turned out great! The frame is just perfect for it.

It's beautiful Danielle! Your stitching is wonderful and they did a fantastic job framing it. Your frame is just the perfect compliment for your great stitching.

Danielle, I love your framed piece--it's just beautiful and will look lovely on your wall.

Beritbunny--I greatly enjoyed working on this one. I tend to get bored easily and set designs aside, but this is one I kept wanting to work on.
Amanda--I do that all the time--buy charts/kits that I can't wait to work on and then sit languishing for years. We must all do that, I think.
KarenV--Thanks. I have such a hard time choosing frames, but the lady who helped me gave lots of great advice and suggestions. They really did a wonderful job on it.
Debbie--why is it that stitching always looks so much neater when it is stretched nicely and framed?! The fame and design do work well together, don't they.
Alice--Thanks. I think I have chosen the spot--next to a PS garden sampler that also has a bee skep in it. And it is right above my computer so I can look at it often.

Wonderful. I made that one for my brother who is a hobby bee-keeper and he has it displayed proudly on his wall. Here's hoping you enjoy yours too.

It's perfect! I also have this chart and hope to get to it soon. Did you use glass? I'm curious about the padding. Do you think it is a padded foam core board?

It's lovely Danielle! I've this one in my stash, looked at it a couple of times and then put it back. Seeing yours finished and framed might just be the nudge I need to stitch this. Love it!
