I've decided that I do indeed want to stitch Brenda Keyes's "Band Sampler", which appears in her book, Traditional Samplers.
I started it over the weekend. Although the first rows are not the most exciting they do seem to go fairly quickly.
I'm hoping that with the repetitive nature of the rows this will be something I can work on a little every night, even if it is only for fifteen minutes before bedtime. I need something simple yet addicting to stitch. I still love the Mystery Sampler, however, and will keep working on that as well. Sometimes it seems like it's just a matter of getting those first stitches in and then seeing progress that makes me want to keep going and look forward to (even make time for) my stitching.
Wow it's so pretty!!!! Love it :-).

I love band samplers, they seem to grow quite quickly and you always feels you have achieved something when you complete another row.

I love Brenda Keyes' samplers very much and have some of them in my stash. This band sampler looks very pretty.

I agree that the progress often seems to go so slowly at first--this is a lovely piece, and I'm looking forward to seeing your progress. I confess I'm even more hyped about Mystery, though, and even considering gathering up the charts for it--though WHY I'd need another WiP I've no idea. :P

It looks lovely! I'm looking forward to watching your progress.

Katrina--Thanks, I am actually really excited about working on this one.
Terri--I like the colors, too, and it will go nicely in my living room. This is the first "proper" band sampler I've stitched, though I have a few Just Nan designs in progress...
Tammy--Thanks--for once I am really pleased with my choice, too.
Sandra--That's part of the reason I wanted to stitch this--it will feel like I am making real progress with each new row--even though some of them are really very simple.
Brigitte--I wouldn't mind stitching the other sampler by her I have as a chart. This book also has some lovely designs.
Beritbunny--If I don't make quick progress at first I tend to loose interest quickly. Band samplers are nice as the rows can go so quickly--instant gratification. That mystery sampler really is great and BD charts are always so enjoyable to stitch. Not to enable or anything, but you should look for the charts and then you can join in rather than watching from the sidelines... :) And you can never have too many WiPs!
Lois--Thanks. I hope to make more progress this weekend and will of course share as I go.

Kristen--Thanks! Part of what I like about this sampler are the pleasing colors! I haven't even used all of them yet, so I'm looking forward to how it shapes up.

Suzanne--Thanks. I should not start something new and just work on my Mystery Sampler, but...
