Silverlotus

We've been having very hot weather here too. Thank goodness for good air conditioning!

I love the mystery sampler. I think it will look fabulous when it is done.

CarolR

Your band sampler is looking good - nice colours. I enjoy stitching alphabets!

KarenV

Lovely progress on your band sampler Danielle, those colours are really pretty! I was looking at this book online last week and debating whether or not to get it, but I ended up getting another of her books, The Sampler Motif Book, instead. I have a couple of Brenda's other books already and they're really nice sources of motifs and alphabets.

Brigitte

I love the colours on your band sampler very much. But you are right - looking at alphabets is much better than stitching them, lol. But as you have a second project you can always alternate between them.

Danielle

Silverlotus--Yes, I'm not sure what I would do without air conditioning. There was a time I didn't have it, but I lived in a basement apartment and it stayed cooler there. I'm ready for fall, however. I'm really enjoying working on the Mystery Sampler, it's starting to look really good--especially with the two sections lined up together.
CarolR--Thanks. I generally enjoy stitching alphabets, too, but this one has so many close together--it's nice having a variety of motifs to work on.
KarenV--Thanks. I love the colors, too. That was partially what drew me to this one. If you ever want to have a peek in the book let me know and I can take a few photos of the samplers that are included. There is at least one more that I'd love to do sooner than later, which I took a photo of a while back (if you scroll down you can see it). It's hard deciding on books without being able to see what samplers they have. I only wish the specialty stitches had better instructional diagrams, but I have a good reference book for those. I may have to see if my public library has any of her books and take a look at them. I can't remember if I have any of her other books, but I don't think so.
Brigitte--I've not even used all the colors, but this is the general color scheme. I think it will look really nice when I get more of the unusual rows stitched in. An alphabet is okay, but three *is* a lot. They will look nice when I get them finished, though.

Karoline

They're both looking lovely, great progress.

Feel free to send some of your weather over the Atlantic, it's been very grey & dismal here

Lois

Nice progress on both pieces. I can imagine that stitching is not top of your list when it is so hot. Hope your weather breaks soon.

beritbunny

Love it! Mystery sampler is calling my name louder and louder lately--yours is coming along nicely! :D

Hi Danielle, just found your blogs through your post at Austenprose. Love your review on The Corinthian. I've been a Heyer reader for too many years to mention and own all her books. I also work in a library, am an avid stitcher (I have the Brenda Keyes sampler ready to go) and have a book blog, so I kind of feel that I already know you.

Suzanne

I love you band sampler, it's looking lovely. Nice progress on your mystery sampler. I have been paying a little more attention to mine these few weeks and it's stitching up pretty quickly.

Danielle

Karoline--I hope you are having better weather--it's not quite as bad as it has been here. Still looking forward to fall, though.
Lois--Having linen sitting on my lap in hot weather is not so nice. I have been stitching more than usual, but it's thanks to being in air conditioning!
Beritbunny--You know you are going to have to get this one, right?!
Carol--Thanks so much for dropping by--that was really kind of Laurel Ann to share my blog link on that post! It sounds like we have a lot in common and now I will have to visit your blog! It's hard deciding whether to stitch or read sometimes, isn't it?!
Suzanne--Once I get enough stitched so that the picture is coming together I am always in the mood to keep adding more. This second part of the Mystery Sampler is pretty quick going...until you make a mistake of course! :)
