It's really way too hot to stitch right now, but I broke down anyway and recently ordered "Rose Quaker" Sampler by Stickideen von der Wiehenburg and the supplies to start stitching. I've been lusting after this for quite a while now.
Here's my very large cut of linen. I didn't think about how bit it would ultimately be, but this will be a Long Term project I guess. It is a soft white color (don't remember exactly which) in 30 count. I will be stitching it with DMC colors.
And here are a very few first stitches. Two and a half motifs finished out of....loads. I have stitched a little more than is shown here, but it has been so hot and humid and my house so warm that I haven't really felt much like working on any of my projects and having a piece of linen sitting on my lap. I'll try and finish the partially stitched motifs and maybe add one of the letters (there is also an alphabet scattered about).
So, a small start, but something new to look at!
Great start! I've been eying this one since it came out! I'll look forward to seeing your progress.

You're off to a great start, and a brave girl you are too to stitch when it's so warm and humid. The Rose Quaker looks a feast of pinks and roses!

Thanks so much for the very kind comments everyone! They are as always much appreciated. I have only stitched a tiny bit more as it is so blisteringly hot here at the moment. Our 'cool down' brought the temps down to 90F but still far too warm for me to want to pick up a needle and thread. Hope to get back to it Soon!

Oh it's so great to see this started! I recently purchased the DMCs for this and am soooo in love with the colors! I need to finish up so many WIPs before I start any more, but man, oh, man! do I want to start this one.

Lovely design and nice start with it being so hot. You mentioned stitching in hand have you ever thought about using a stitching stand up frame to hold your material? That way it is off your lap and will not be so hot. Just a suggestion. I use one and love it.

Your work is beautiful! I am a new linen stitcher.
Do/Have you all used a hoop, scroll bars, Q snaps or always just hold in your hand when you stitching on linen?!
