I Love Prairie Schooler

I love Prairie Schooler designs.  When I first started stitching PS was one of the first designers I started collecting.  I think the first sampler I finished was a garden sampler as well!  I would love to have all of them in my collection, but the OOP charts can be a bit expensive on eBay, so I will make due getting the ones I can get inexpensively.  To be honest I am not sure if I really like all the new designs, but of course designers have to progress in their styles and evolve.  Basically what I don't like about the new designs are the figures.  They remind me of something from the 70s (are those the same type that were popular with quilters?).  But I like everything else.  I have on order the Santas 12-days of Christmas.  And PS designs make great little gifts when you want to make a little pincushion or fob, and there are lots of freebies, too!  These are older charts that just came in the mail.  This is how terrible I am---I ordered some things from Elegant Stitch, and received most of my order.  I completely forgot about these charts that had to be ordered, so I got a little surprise in the mail today!

New Charts...

Look...new charts.  They actually came a couple of days ago, but with the excitement of starting on a new chart (stitching the Bookshelf) and getting my lovely ornament in my exchange, I didn't post anything about them.  More lovely Little House Needleworks designs.  I want to kit up Daisy Lane Cottage and Plant Kindness first.  I really like the frames she chose, too.  I think you can order the frames as well.  Of course my framing abilities are nonexistant!

I haven't gotten in much stitching time in the evenings.  I am not sure where the time goes, but when I am at home it flies by!!  I have lots of catching up to do.  I also have decided I am going to put my Spanish Geometrical Sampler on stretcher bars.  Since it is larger than my other projects I hate to leave it squished up in the bag.  I am hoping to get in stitching time on it this weekend.  I have neglected it too much lately.  As always...so much to stitch...so little time...

New Little House Needlework Charts...

Today as I was checking out my favorite online needlework stores I discovered new charts by Little House Needleworks.  I really like both of them!  She designs such sweet little samplers that they are hard for me to pass up!  The nice thing is that they are less expensive than many new designs and they use plain old (cheap) DMC, and the occasional overdyed floss.  I can't wait now to get started on The Bookshelf!  As soon as I finish my Friendship project--I am going to put in my first stitches.  I have also been thinking of starting a needlework accessory.  I have been looking at too many online photo albums and I see so many lovely little pincushions and needlecases, etc.  I am thinking of starting This Too Shall Pass.  I have been "studying" the instructions, and I think I might be able to handle it!!  But first things first--I have to finish my exchange project...

Prairie Schooler!!

Prairie Schooler has been one of my favorite designers from the very first!  I have a fairly nice collection of her charts, but like everyone else I wish I had more of the out of print charts as well as the freebies.  It always amazes me how much PS charts can sell for on Ebay!  Who can afford those prices??  Today I discovered a new bulletin board devoted entirely to Prairie Schooler.  I think it is a newly formed board and there are not a whole lot of members yet, but I think it will be a fun place to visit daily.  I have already been by there several times today!  And...hmmm...it has made me want to look through those charts...The picture of the one I posted is a favorite.  I love all the samplers (especially any garden related themes), and the village scenes.  I have finished and framed one of the Garden Samplers.  Plus I have several more started that are in bins that so much time has passed I can't even think of them as WIPs.  I guess they have long been UFOs.  Maybe I should look and see what I started but never finished (though in most cases most likely just never got too far).  I think I have one that is an Autumn Sampler.  I certainly don't need any new projects, but it is always nice to go back and rediscover old favorites!
