I am a very spoiled stitcher right now!! I received this gorgeous redwork needlecase today from Mireille in Dijon, France!! I *love* it! Last year I stitched a red heart designed by Marjorie Massey (Cherry Heart), but it still needs to be finished in some way. I must finish it so I can display it with my needlecase!
Here is the inside. I have seen this type of finish on other blogs and admired them greatly! It is a lovely heart shape with red felt inside for my needles and the front and back is held together by ribbons! Stitchers are so ingenious--how many unusual and beautiful ways there are to finish these designs! And it is stitched and finished absolutely perfectly!! Did I say I love it?? LOL.
I have to share all the goodies she included! I wonder if she belongs to the PCB stitchers in Dijon? The card says "1ere Banniere du Club". The front has all sorts of samplers, and says "Le Point de Croix de Bourguignon". She also sent a postcard of her gorgeous city Dijon (I think I would love it there--all sorts of historical buildings!). She also incuded a little heart ornament that I will put on my Christmas tree (later this month I will be putting it up!). And there are even yummy treats--Boules de Cassis (I tried them--delicious!), a chouette de pain d'epice --it says La rose de Vergy--looks yummy, too. And this is great--a French tin of aniseed flavored candies. The tin has a very pretty illustration and says Anis - L'Abbaye de Favigny (which must be in the background). I am quite happy with everything--Mireille--I need your email address to thank you properly!! You are too, too nice to send such wonderful things!! So, my weekend is starting off very nicely!
