Thanks to Karen V. for the heads up on the new Carriage House Samplings design The Village of Hawk Run Hollow! I *love* this design, and it is definitely something I will be ordering--chart and supplies. I know I am not supposed to be ordering anything, and I have been very good, but this will be my one really big splurge of the year (well, I hope the only one anyway). I actually think I like this one a tad bit better than "The Houses of Hawk Run Hollow", but I still really love that one. Needless to say, this should give me the impetus to get off my duff and get to work on the HoHRH! It seems I read on Legacy yesterday (It must have been before she posted about the supplies for this) that she had planned on releasing it in August, but has moved up the date to July--yay.
I have also gotten an email/newlsetter from Stitches 'n Things with an update from the Market that is going on this weekend. Some of the highlights that I am interested in (taken from the newsletter):
"HOOKED ON RUGS – the most diverse collection of punchneedle from 9 distinct
design lines from nationally known designers – Pennsylvania Flowers, Four
Patriotic Pins, Two Sunflowers, Checkerboard Game Board, Big Snowman, Eagle,
Betsy Ross Flag, Heart Floral, Man In Moon Gameboard, Sunflower Basket, Crow on
Pineapple, Rabbit With Stars, Rabbit With Heart. And also from Hooked On Rugs,
“Distress It’ ... an antiquing solution for fabric .... bottles for slightly
distressed, just distressed, and extremely distressed looks!!SHEPHERDS BUSH – Autumn Blessings (this is the one I’d told you about and Chris
has started it!!!) .... Autumn Is Giving (large count kit) .... Summer Is Waving
(kit) .... Tending The Blooms (kit) .... Keeping The Bees (kit) .... Be
Bush-BeAttitude (chart) "
So far these are the two things that have caught my eye. I am trying to decide on a punch needle design (though I am trying to find a kit I like), so I am curious what these look like. I also am very curious about the "Keeping the Bees" kit that SB is coming out with, as I love bee/beehive designs. And have you heard about some sort of "Town Square" design that 40 designers took part in? It is all a bit hazy what this means exactly. From what I understand, only shops that attend the show will get the designs. I am not sure if this is one large chart, or if it is 40 small ones that can be stitched together? I am looking forward to finding out what that means exactly, too!
