As I began working on Goode Huswife's "Sampler Farm", I discovered a symbol that was clearly used on the chart, but was not on the color chart. I tried the designer's website (no list of corrections exist there anymore--she only seems to be selling the original stitched models at this point), and I Googled thinking that surely someone else had this problem and I could find the solution somewhere. I had no luck though. One of the best things about the various bulletin boards is that if you have a question or problem--if you post about it, someone is sure to answer eventually! So thanks to Carol S. of The Sampler Farm (how fitting since this is also the name of the design) was kind enough to help me out. So I thought I would post the information here as well. So if sometime later some poor stitcher is having the same problem and tries to Google--maybe they will find my blog and get the answer! Carol explained it best:
"The 'open heart' symbol is for the color 632. The symbol that is already listed for 632 is supposed to be 3820. There's also another symbol given for 3820 but if you look at your chart, you'll see that the symbol is used in the over one section which is graphed with a different symbol"
Now I think I am set to go! I decided to work the design with two strands of DMC over two and one strand of DMC for the over one sections. I think I could easily have stitched with one strand as well, but I sort of like the coverage of two strands in this circumstance. Thanks for the input everyone. Finally, no package yet from Drema--maybe tomorrow!
