I am nearly finished with the phrase on the bottom of my "Dainty Housewren". The end is in sight! The last time I stitched on this project (before it became a UFO), I had problems with this area and had to pick out my stitching. I have actually caught another small error, but I should be able to fix it without too much frustration! I was hoping to wash this when I finished, but I think I better not dare. The linen is RR Reproductions, so it is hand dyed. What would I do if the colors all ran in the water!! Since this has been stuffed in a bin for so long it has some pretty serious creases in it (though mostly outside the stitching area. Any solutions for getting out creases? Of course I will iron it, but that doesn't always get them all out. Once the stitching is completed (and I have it all ironed), I need to add lots of beads. I am planning on finishing this as a cushion. If you are not familiar with what the finished design will look like--it is going to have beads all around the edges (in a sort of scallop shell design--if that makes sense!). I also have her face to finish--the mouth will have an "X" in red in the middle and then straight stitches over one thread on each side--I also had problems with this before too...I guess I will worry about that when I get to it! When I finish this do I get to start something new....or I better go back to the UFO bin, eh?!
By the way, I broke down and ordered the free "Town Square" charts from Elegant Stitch. I was actually sort of good. I didn't order anything for myself other than that CD, but I did order a couple of things for a friend's birthday. I don't feel quite so guilty now!
