My first completed sampler all framed! I finished this Historic Stitches reproduction sampler, "John Foster" earlier this year. I finally got around to having it framed. I am very pleased with the framing job. You probably can't see the detail well, but the carved pattern in the frame also has a dusting of the same green-ish tone that is in the sampler as well. The color of the wood brings out the red of the door, I thought, too. I will be hanging it in my living room on one side of my fireplace. On the other side I have hanging my "Sanctuary" by Drawn Thread. This feels like such a huge accomplishment to me to stitch something (while not huge, fairly large nonetheless) and then have it framed so beautifully. I have been working on so many small projects lately, that this really puts me in the mood to work on something larger. Most likely that will be "The Houses of Hawk Run Hollow" (see previous post--LOL).
I did manage to finish the stitching on my friend's gift. I now need to pull out the sewing machine and do some sewing. I doubt that will happen today. We invited relatives over for dinner, so I don't expect to get in any stitching time. Hopefully I can get it done Monday night and ready for the mail on Tuesday! It feels good to at least complete the stitching!
