As threatened, I pulled out my Prairie Schooler chart, "A Prairie Year" as well as my fabric bin and started on the July ornament. It felt good to stitch on one of these designs again. I think this will be a quick design to stitch up as well. I am stitching on 40 count Lambswool. I know I have mentioned before how much I love Lambswool. I especially love 40 count linen (and this is fairly stiff and the holes are easy to see as the weave is not too tight). And working with one ply of floss makes the whole process go so much faster! I think I will finish this as a fob. I am hoping it won't be too large stitched up--I think it should be about 2-1/2" or so. If I get this completed before July, I will go back and try and work on June. Hopefully working backwards (I have part of April, as well as May and June to stitch) will go quickly as well. Maybe this will help me get back on track. I am not sure what the problem was with April. These designs are not too large and they really should be small, fast projects each month--even including the finishing!
In case you didn't see this lovely heart Quaker freebie that KarenV kindly shared, I thought I would post a link here as well. I want to stitch this design, and I am sure I can easily find supplies in my stash! There are also some freebies on the Hoffmann site. My favorite is the "Summer House" by Little House Needleworks. I am also hoping to get ahold of the 40 freebie charts from Market called "Town Square".
