Here is another progress shot of my Beardie Designs project-- "Elegant Accessories". I have just started the back side of the fob--you can see the front here. I think this will be the smallest fob I have ever stitched! It must measure less than 1-1/2" inches! I hope to complete the backside and then move on to the pincushion which is octagonal in shape. I can't believe a year ago I set this project aside as I simply couldn't get into it. I started it in DMC, and I just didn't like the effect, so I pulled out the few stitches I had in and put this away for another day. Now I am using NPI silks (not at all expensive as I only needed four colors). I guess materials can make a huge difference, eh!
Out of curiosity...has anyone gotten "The Town Square" charts that designers gave away at Market? I am trying to decide if I really need them or not! It seems as stores are making these available only for a short time, so I had better make a decision. Elegant Stitch is offering them on a CD (cost of $5.00 plus a purchase). As I order from ES quite often anyway, I was thinking I could get this CD. I have been quite tempted to kit up the Blackbird Designs chart - "Quaker Garden". This seems to be a popular design right now. I already have the chart, so I would only need to order the linen and five overdyed floss colors. I don't want to order just anything, but this is something I think I would really enjoy working on. Luckily it sounds as though the only design that I absolutely must have from Market is "The Village of Hawk Run Hollow" (of course that is literally a dozen projects in one!). I guess I will have to go check out blogs and see if there are any speedy stitchers who have already started stitching these little designs!
