I want to learn how to do Hardanger. I have had these little kits in my stash for a little while. I really like Victoria Sampler designs, and I think it is wonderful that the designer has created all sorts of little kits to learn how to do various stitches. Level five is all Hardanger, and I think there are ten kits in all. I have the first three, and eventually I would like to buy/stitch all of them. I believe they are all the same size. I think they could be finished very nicely as pincushions, or even eight corner cushions! The first is simple kloster blocks, and there is no cutting involved. Each design gets a bit harder.
I have never tried any type of Hardanger at all. My impetus to learn is this kit, which is also a Victoria Sampler design (Heirloom Homecoming Sampler), that my mom bought for me this summer. Since it was a gift, I want to make an extra effort to stitch it, and not let it sit in my plastic bins for years on end. So this is one of my stitching projects that I have listed for next year! It is a really pretty design, and I was looking at it when it was released, so it was nice to receive it as a gift! As you see, there is quite a bit of Hardanger at the bottom, and I am going to need to practice before I undertake a project like this. So these little mini kits are really perfect! Any tips on this type of stitching would be greatly appreciated!
