Towards the end of last year I discovered a wonderful historical series by author, Cynthia Harrod-Eagles. I saw a listing for the newer books in the series in the A Common Reader catalog. It sounded very intriguing. I think originally it was not meant to be more than a dozen or so books, covering the history of England, but it is now projected to be 30 books. There are already 27 volumes published. I am on number 2! It starts out in the 1400s and ends in current time. The book I am reading is set partially in the court of Henry VIII. Happily there is a family tree in the beginning of the book as I don't know how I would keep all the characters straight otherwise. I have the first 25 books, as I ordered them from A Common Reader when I came across them. They had a special discounted price for the set. So I have lots of reading ahead of me!
