Not really big news, but exciting for me all the same. This book of ATCs (artist trading cards) came out last year. Entirely by a fluke, I got one of my cards in. This publication was put out by Stampington & Company, which is the publisher of my most favorite craft magazines. They are always putting together special publications, and at the moment they are working on one about Transparent Art. I had planned on submitting something, but as I have been so behind in my latest chunky book project, I didn't get anything done. Once again, by chance I am getting another card published. While this is not doubt not a terribly big deal (since there will be people getting lots of their artwork in the publication), I am personally rather excited! If you want to see the card that will be published, take a look at this ArtChix page. It is funny as this was my very fist swap that I even participated in. Helga, the owner of ArtChix, must have submitted cards from her collection to the magazine. The card in the lower left hand corner (with "poetry" on it) is the card that got in. I am assuming that this is the card that Helga owns. The other five went to other swappers. Personally I really liked the "stud" card (upper right hand corner). And finally, to top all that off, I was invited to join a Yahoo Group for advanced mixed-media artists yesterday as well. That amazed me, so I thought I better join right away before they change their minds! All in all a good day for my paper arts addiction!!
