Now that summer is officially here, I am in the mood for a little summer stitching. I tend to pull out certain projects at certain times of the year, and this is one that I bought a while ago. It is a nice summer-y project--it has a nice beach feel to it. The design is by Just Nan, who has been a favorite designer for a long time now. I have loads of her charts, but I haven't worked on anything by her for a while now. Since I have been trying to not buy much in the way of new stitching charts, last week I pulled out a bunch of kits and charts that I had put away. It is the next best thing to ordering lots of new stuff (though I have fallen off the wagon a wee bit, if I must be completely honest). Sometimes I forget what I have, and then it is almost as if it is new to me. This one came with little beads and a starfish charm that you can't see too well in the plastic.
Of course the Fourth is just around the corner already. Little House Needleworks is a designer I am sure I have mentioned before, and I seem to be accumulating a lot of her charts. This one is a limited edition sampler. This came with overdyed Crescent Colors floss. Her designs are always very quaint--lots of Americana, colonial type subjects. I have The Bookshelf started, but as I have several things going at the moment, I have not made much progress on this one. I would like to stitch this one in 2005, however, as I am sure she will be coming out with a new limited edition sampler next year as well.
I have only stitched one needleroll before, which I gave away as a gift. This needleroll by Shepherds Bush was given to me for my birthday, and I have also pulled this one out. I would like to start a needleroll collection and display them in a basket of some sort. All three of these charts are kitted up and ready to go, so it is just a matter of deciding which to choose. I am nearly finished stitching the scissor case I showed here (This Too Shall Pass), so I don't feel too guilty about thinking about a new project. I should be finished with the stitching on my scissor case in the next couple of days. Now the "finishing" will be another matter! I have a couple of days off next week, and I hope to spend one finishing some projects that have been laying around!
