The new issue of Creat and Decorate is out. As usual there are several projects that I want to do. Of course the quilt on the cover is gorgeous, but I know that I won't be making that one anytime too soon. There are two penny rug designs that I would love to make. One is just a mini one with a strawberry design, and there is even a pattern for strawberry pincushions. The other penny rug has an eagle with a flag on it. There are some primitive stitchery patterns, some rug hooking patterns (I really want to learn how to do this sometime!!), and now a couple of punch needle projects. I know this is popular now. I think it has been around for some time and is coming back in vogue. A lot of my needlework shops are carrying supplies for this. I am not sure I will try this or not--I would love to see one in person. There are usually doll patterns in this magazine, and some of them are really cool (folksy type dolls). I would also love to try and make some of these, too. I think I am just going to have to get a subscription to this as I always find things that I want to do--to bad I can't order some free time in which to do this stuff!
I would love to make the quilt on the front of Create and Decorate, but I know that will not happen. I bought this fabric a while back from Connecting Threads. They sell fabric samplers and often they will give a freebie mini quilt pattern with the fabric. I would like to try the bottom mini quilt--center diamond. It looks like it would make a nice centerpiece. My plan when I bought it was to make it for my mom who loves this sort of stuff. As usual--I pull out fabric or whatever and immediately a cat must come and lay down all over it!! I just love fabric, so I know how she feels!!
