Today I got to take a look at the August Baker & Taylor Forecast magazine I mentioned before. I just discovered that Martha Grimes is coming out with another Emma Graham adventure in Belle Ruin. The saga continues. I am a little surprised as I figured Cold Flat Junction would be the end of that story. At the moment I am rereading (for the third time) Hotel Paradise. "Belle Ruin" is definitely going on my list to buy when it comes out. I am rereading the fist two just in time!
Here are some other titles that caught my eye--in no particular order:
- The Tattoo Artist Jill Climent
- Life Sentences Alice Blanchard
- The Holding Merilyn Simonds
- An Atomic Romance Bobbie Ann Mason
- Highest Tide Jim Lynch
- The Tulip and the Pope Deborah Larsen
- The Mercy of Thin Air Ronlyn Domingue
- The Wedding: An Encounter with Jan Van Eyck E.M. Reese
- Wickett's Remedy Myla Goldberg
- Dancing on Thorns Rebecca Horsfall
I think I must have written down twice the number of titles than I am listing here, but I thought I would share a handful.
Here are a few nonfiction titles (the others above are all fiction):
- 1491 Charles C. Mason
- Kiss & Tango Marina Palmer
- Japanland Karin Muller
- Mysterious Private Thompson Laura Leedy Gansler
- Girl Sleuth Melanie Rehak
- Reading, Writing, and Leaving Home Lynn Freed
I have joined an online book club over at Reading Matters. Our first two selections are: The New York Trilogy by Paul Auster, and Out by Natsuo Kirino. Both sound good to me. I have always thought of reading something by Auster, but I just haven't gotten around to it. I have "Out", and I planned on reading that anyway. Should be fun!
