I have wanted to read The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls for a while now. My name finally edged up on the library list, and I am nearly finished with it. It has been quite a ride, I must say! I have a bit more left, which I need to finish tomorrow as it is due on Saturday. Alas, I don't think it will be any problem as it is addictive reading.
How anyone can live a life like these kids did, and grow up to be successful and well adjusted amazes me. I almost feel like it can't possibly be real, but I am not sure how much of this anyone can even make up! I hope the author lets us know what happens in the end--how they all turned out--I guess I will find out very soon. Is it wrong to say I am "enjoying" this book? Maybe it is better to say that it is compelling reading. It is like an accident on the road. You know you shouldn't look, you don't want to gawp at someone's misfortune, but you simply cannot help your curiosity! I highly recommend this book!
