I am sure I have mentioned the Acorn catalog before. I just received the Fall catalog and am enjoying looking at all the things I cannot afford! I love all the British films and other goodies that they have. I might actually break down and order one of the videos, but I need to be good otherwise. I have not been budgeting too well lately (though my binge shopping lately has been for needlework supplies rather than books--I go in phases--and I feel a book phase rapidly approaching!!). Here are a few of the things it would be fun to order (but I will resist!): House of Eliott DVD (I have both of the books--not yet read however!), Royal Cats Umbrella (something I would love to have but would never buy for myself!), Poetry for Your Table (something you buy for someone who has everything!), King Arthur's Britain DVD (looks interesting--I love history stuff), Norman/Saxon Helmet (to go with the DVD,of course--okay I would never buy this, but I had to share anyway!), Cape Cod Mystery Theater (sounds like fun!), Porcelain Dragonfly Teacup, Saucer and Spoon (could never afford, but lovely anyway!), Second Generation DVD (this is the film I am considering ordering--looks interesting!), and finally, The Up Series DVD (have you seen any of these?--Interesting, but this would be great to check out of a library!). I would share the link to the Christmas Pudding ($34.50 serves 4-6 and comes with brandy butter), but as it doesn't ship until October 10th, I guess they haven't yet listed it online. I wonder what it tastes like, and if all Britons have it at Christmas-time?? Perhaps it is their version of a fruit cake? Well, that was a nice little escapist moment!
