Okay, I must jump in here....I saw this at Pages Turned who saw it at Book World...and so on, and so on...how many multiple titles by a single author (either by or about) do you have? The cut off was four. I have seen some bloggers use a cut off of ten(!), which astounds me! I tend to read many more contemporary authors than other book bloggers, so my list is not going to be quite so "high-brow" as theirs, but I think I read reasonably decent literature. To simplify things, I am not listing any of my mystery authors, and I just listed what I could easily see and count on my shelves. I have too many piles at the moment, and I didn't want to risk an avalanche by moving things around too much. I was surprised that I had as many multiples as I did. So here goes in no particular order:
Beryl Bainbridge 4
Sebastien Japrisot 7
Edith Wharton 13
Elizabeth Bowen 5
Thomas Hardy 4
Dorothy Dunnett 14
Arturo Perez Reverte 6
J.K. Rowling 6
Louis de Bernieres 4
Daphne Du Maurier 4
Sarah Dunant 6
Kaye Gibbons 6
Joanne Harris 5
Margaret Atwood 7
Toni Morrison 4
Elizabeth Jane Howard 6
Diane Johnson 8
Mary McCarthy 7
Cormac McCarthy 5
Roddy Doyle 6
Angela Carter 5
A.S. Byatt 7
Anita Brookner 12
Mary Wesley 9
Annabel Davis Goff 4
Sylvia Plath 6
Franz Kafka 14
Sandra Dallas 5
E.M. Forster 7
Maeve Brennan 4
Alice Munro 4
Edna O’Brien 4
M.M. Kaye 8
As you can see I am heavy on female authors and I guess I need to beef up my classics collection...And, yes, 14 Kafkas, but nary a Shakespeare listed--go figure (does an anthology of complete works count??).
