So, who has been following the controversy over James Fry's book, A Million Little Pieces? Apparently Oprah has defended him. To be honest I have not read this book, and it probably wouldn't be something I would necessarily pick up and buy--nothing personal, but I just don't tend to read this sort of book. I have seen it in bookstores, but I just haven't been tempted to really look at it. When I read Sara Nelson's So Many Books, So Little Time, this was one of the books she chose to read and she gave it rave reviews, too. I guess I am not sure if I really care, but it is amusing to watch. Personally if I am reading nonfiction, I like it to be factual, but every author has their own agenda, and what really is truth anyway? Even history books have their own slant to the story, and you would think they should be factual. There was a funny op-ed piece in the New York Times that was quite amusing, if nothing else!!
