Interlibrary loan. Those are the secret words. Am I the only one who is truly addicted to interlibrary loan? Practically (and I do stress practically as there are always a few odd books that manage to elude my grasp) any book is at my fingertips with this wonderful service. Working in a university library I receive the added benefit of getting nearly all these books on loan for free. So when Kate S. mentioned the essay by Adele Wiseman (an unknown author to me previously) called "Memoirs of a Book Molesting Childhood" and she quoted some wonderful passages, I knew I had to find a copy. None to be had in the state of Nebraska, but Bates College in Maine has so kindly loaned me their copy (and I promise to take good care of it and return it on time!). It is sad that "One of Canada's leading fiction writers" as Adele Wiseman is described on the book blurb is someone I have never heard of. Who else don't I know about? I might have named this post "Another Reason to Love Litblogs"--just think of all the other undiscovered (by me anyway) authors there are out there...and thanks to those bloggers who introduce them to us!
