A Very Merry Christmas to everyone! Here is my little Dickensian village. There is snow on the ground, though you might not be able to see that. Apparently it is going to be the only snow I will see this holiday as it is sunny outside and very, well...brown. I read half of A Christmas Carol last night, and will finish it today. I had planned to read all the stories in the anthology, but I was distracted by other books, so I will just stick with the biggie. It has a lovely Christmas-y atmosphere and would be a wonderful story to read aloud to your family. I have decided one of my fun reads this vacation is going to be Michel Faber's The Apple: New Crimson Petal Stories. The first story is "Christmas in Silver Street", so I will drag this along to my parent's house later today! I am still working on Sophie's Choice, but I did manage to finish a couple of other books! More about those later. I hope everyone has a lovely day! I'll be hanging out with my family eating turkey and stuffing and lots of Christmas cookies, and hopefully doing a little reading. Cheers!
