I seem to be highly unmotivated today. I'm just frittering away the afternoon accomplishing nothing. It didn't help that I spent a while bringing up Bloglines and going through posts--marking and reading only to have it freeze on me. Has anyone else been having problems with it? Now I don't know if it will have saved the posts I marked or not. Frustrating. I usually read and post on a short story every Sunday, but I may have to save that for another day. As Angela has tagged me for a meme, it seems like the perfect solution for the funk I'm currently in. I've done this a few times before, but I always find it entertaining.
1. Pick up the nearest book
2. Open to page 123
3. Find the fifth sentence
4. Post the next three sentences
5. Tag five people, and acknowledge who tagged you
I've been reading and thoroughly enjoying Catherine Delors' Mistress of the Revolution. Here goes:
"He is a libertine, like his friends. They are after the same thing, all three of them. Believe me, dear, it is not your hand in marriage."
Delors' writing is really superb and the historical details are quite seductive. It all feels quite real--historical fiction at its best.
Perhaps it's time I turned off the computer and forget about trying to accomplish anything and go and read! I might be back later if I do get my short story read...or maybe I'll just keep reading about Marie Antoinette's Court and young Gabrielle's adventures there.
I never know who to tag, so if this catches your fancy feel free to grab it!
