I suspect that just a few reader's attention might be elsewhere tonight (at least if you happen to be in the US), and as I am dragging (how sad, since it's only Tuesday), I think I'll just share a couple of needlework photos. This top photo didn't turn out very well, but it's on the small side (about 2" square at the moment), so hard to photograph. It's called "Liberty House" and the designer is Ewe & Eye & Friends. It seems sort of fitting to share a patriotic design on Election Day, though I didn't really plan it this way. I'm trying to work on something small in the hopes of actually finishing something soon. I haven't accomplished much this year with my needlework (I wonder where all that free time went?!).
I started this one a while back, and while it is also not very large, I can't seem to make much progress on it. It's called "The Needleworker" by the designer Little House Needleworks. Part of the problem is I made a mistake and had to pick out half the letters at the top and part of the border in order to restitch them correctly. I was one linen thread off, and while no one would likely ever notice it, I would know it was there and it would drive me mad. So, now I am back on course. Also I have to admit I think there's something weird going on with her face. She's got a little curl at the top, and then just a set of eyes half way down. It's not really working for me, but I'm not sure yet how to fix it. I think I'll just keep stitching and decide when it's finished whether to change the face or not.
Much like reading, I am sort of in the mood to work on something different, though I'm not quite sure what that design might be. Usually when I dig through my needlework stash I end up pulling out more projects than I can possibly start (and finish--considering how slowly I work). With books and needlework, for me it seems to be the thrill of the new, and hopefully something will grab me so I can stay focused!
And I hope you (US readers again) voted! It's always exciting to be part of the political process!
