You would think I would get to a point of satiation when it comes to books. And sometimes I will go to the bookstore and feel totally overwhelmed and won't feel like choosing books, but I still add new books to my wishlist. I've been coming across a few new books that I am looking forward to reading. Thanks to Susan for the heads up on Overbooked, which looks like an excellent resource for new and forthcoming books. I've been looking for a one-stop source, and maybe this is it (along with blogs of course).
The Other Elizabeth Taylor, Nicola Beauman (due 4/23) - This is the first in the 'Persephone Lives' series.
The Little Stranger, Sarah Waters (4/30) - Can't wait for this one!! "In a dusty post-war summer in rural Warwickshire, a doctor is called to a patient at Hundreds Hall. Home to the Ayres family for over two centuries, the Georgian house, once grand and handsome, is now in decline, its masonry crumbling, its gardens choked with weeds, the clock in its stable yard permanently fixed at twenty to nine. But are the Ayreses haunted by something more sinister than a dying way of life? Little does Dr Faraday know how closely, and how terrifyingly, their story is about to become entwined with his."
Sitting on a Jigsaw: Britain in the Thirties, Juliet Gardiner (5/28)
Awakening, S.J. Bolton (6/9) - I really liked her first book, Sacrifice (a thriller).
Nocturnes, Kazuo Ishiguro (9/22) - I wish this was a novel, but it appears to be short stories. I'm sure it'll still be very good.
