Someone somewhere was listening to my "I'm tired of winter rant" and has sent 50 degree weather. Thank you. Yesterday it topped 62, though I was only able to enjoy it for a while after work. It felt practically balmy. I think the nice weather made everyone a little giddy if my bus ride home was anything to go by. I was fortunate enough to find a seat in the back of the bus, as a man later got on who had to share with the driver and everyone within listening distance (which is pretty much everyone else on the bus) that he just got out of jail the day before. He then promptly bothered the women who were sitting in the seats closest him. Oh the joys of public transportation. That did nothing, however, to dampen my pleasant walk home. It may be a short lived reprieve as we are due for rain tomorrow, which I am hoping does not turn into ice when the temperature drops once again below freezing. Still, I'll take what I can get. That said, I am not envious of the extreme warmth Melbourne, Australia is experiencing. I like it sunny and warm, but...
Since the weather is going to be so nice today, I hate to waste it indoors. I think a good, brisk walk might be in order. It's always good to have a destination in mind and I'm contemplating a walk to my favorite used bookstore, or maybe my favorite little mystery bookshop, where I can see if she has some of the recommendations I received. If I do go, I'll be taking a list but doing a fair amount of browsing as well.
I would love to finish a book this weekend, preferably one library book. I keep jumping around from book to book however. It's not a matter of not being able to get into what I'm reading, but having so many good ones started I can't stick to just one. However, if I want to finish anything at all this month, it's time to crack down and make a choice.
Happy reading everyone.
