It's been a while since I've shared any of my needlework with you, but I've got several things that I've properly finished and thought you might like to take a peek at. I was working on this for quite a while during this past winter, and voila, here it is as a cushion. I am pleased with how it turned out but admit I struggled quite a bit with it and the sewing machine--had to pick out the stitches and remove and resew the fabric not once but twice! Well worth the effort I think.
This is one of the very first "samplers" I ever stitched and it sat for years in a plastic bin waiting to be finished in some way. Cushions are relatively easy to sew, so here is another. There's a little blue bird sitting at the top (you can see more of it here).
Another design that I grabbed from the finished but not 'finished' bin is this Fourth of July design. These pin pillows are the new thing in the stitching world--at least they became popular when I wasn't stitching in the last year or so, so I had to try my hand at them. (You can see more if it here and here).
My latest project is this Mystery Sampler by Blackbird Designs. It consists of five charts that are stitched on different color linens that will be hand sewn together at the end (see more here). I've never tried anything like this so it will be interesting to see how it turns out! Now that the weather has turned nice and I need to work in the yard more, it has cut into my stitching time, but I try and fit in a little when I can--usually on the weekends. Maybe I'll finish this by the end of summer? I'll keep you posted.
