Well, I did try, but there were just too many distractions this month, so I didn't finish my "Pink Hill Manor" in time to enter it into the State Fair. As a matter of fact, not only did I not enter it, but I didn't enter anything at all. I had planned on sending a few small designs that I stitched last year, but I missed the entry date. I guess this will be for next year. Hopefully, though, I'll finish it long before the next State Fair. I've completed the entire border, but as I still need to fill in a little of the area below the house, I cropped it to focus on the house and the area where most of my stitching so far is concentrated.
And a little closer. If you click on the photos you can even see the weave of the linen. That's what my stitches look like close up!
Just like I am not a one book at a time reader, I am also not a one stitching project at a time stitcher. Since there is not reason to rush through "Pink Hill Manor" any longer, I pulled out this little kit that will be a fast finish. I have only been working on it for about a week and only in the twenty minutes or so before work and already I am halfway finished with it. It is a design by Lizzie Kate called "A Little Love". You can see what it will look like when finished here. I plan on making it into a pincushion when I finish.
I always worry that my stitches look sloppy, but they don't really look so bad here! With the cooler weather now here, I feel more like stitching again. Maybe just as I plan on cleaning up my reading piles this fall and finishing more unfinished books, I'll do the same with my needlework. I have a multitude of unfinished projects. Maybe it's time to clean those up as well.
