Remember this little mystery stitching project? It is finished and now has a new home far away from Omaha. She had quite a lengthy flight to Europe but arrived safe and sound, you will be happy to hear. I suspect she's quite pleased with her new garden so very far away.
Here's the finished piece. The designer is Bent Creek and it came as a kit with all the supplies (the series is called Zippies). It was great fun to stitch. I have been a Bent Creek fan for a long time and think she has lots of really sweet designs.
And a couple of close ups before I did the sewing. The only difficulty I had was stitching the inititals--the linen is a very large count linen and I had hoped to spell out names and the date, but the floss kept sliding between linen threads so I had to compromise.
I'm still working on this one, but I have made progress.
Don't you think this is gorgeous? I thought so, and will admit that I splurged and ordered the chart today. It is (really . . . ) my last splurge for a while. The designer is French, Reflets de Soie, and it is a reproduction sampler, "Anais Curveur 1896". Needless to say, there is rarely an idle moment in my house.
