My bag is packed. I hope I have everything organized and don't leave anything important behind. Now I'm off to Colorado for a lovely and much needed change of scenery. The forecast is rain for most of the days unfortunately, but I am sure it will still be beautiful and a little on the cool side (day temperatures mid-60sF/18C and night temperatures mid-40sF/4C), and I bet not humid at all even with the rain. Just in case I will have books and needlework to amuse me, but I am sure there will still be plenty to do and see. I have two long car rides ahead of me, so hopefully my books will occupy me and make the time fly by.
In case you are curious about my reading material? I realize it is a pretty hefty stack, but unless I was able to talk myself out of something at the last minute here are the books that will be traveling with me. The bottom two are 'in progress' books that would be nice to finish, the middle two are RIP reads and the two at the top are fairly recent purchases that sounded appealing as I sifted through piles in search of something good to read on vacation. If a copy of Sandra Dallas's newest novel, which is just out in paper, arrives in time it will come along, too. A few books will be tucked into luggage, a couple into my backpack and a couple more will be in hand. I was hoping not to carry too much but as we will be in a car, I won't have to schlep luggage around in an airport so have given into whim.
I hope everyone has a wonderful week and I will be back after September 7th with more bookishness and hopefully some great photos and stories of all my mountain adventures.
