Remember when I wondered if there was such a thing as a "snowy, bookish scene" out there? There is!
What a wonderful and wonderfully creative image! Many thanks to my friend Cath who found it. It is by artist Quint Buchholz called "Im Winter". I wonder if it is an illustration from a book, as the card says "aus Im Land der Bucher". A perfect card for this weekend since we are going to have yet another shot of Arctic air and subzero temperatures (for our high!).
Needless to say I will be spending most of my long weekend indoors and hopefully mostly with a book in hand (much like the man above in a way . . .) or with needle and thread.
I am planning on spending time with Antonia Fraser's memoir, reading a few short stories, maybe reading a bit from Antonia White's Sugar House and maybe it is time to pick up once again David Ebershoff's The Danish Girl. I bet, however, in the end I will spend time with a comfort read, a reread actually, The Crimson Rooms. Oh, and I might well pick up a random book from my shelves, since this year is once again a year that I hope to spend time with my own books (and the longer they have been on the shelves and neglected the better).
You? Have a great weekend however you plan on spending it!
