It was a busy weekend and one without much reading time, which always throws me for a loop and makes me feel like I missed something necessary, but being busy (in a non-bookish way) can be an okay thing, too. So just a few links for you today.
My reading is much like a pendulum--at least when it comes to the types of books I read at any given moment. Right now the pendulum seems to be swinging away from me when it comes to mysteries, but I have noted this great list of mysteries and crime novels set in Amsterdam: Crime and the City.
Remember last week I was telling you about a character in a book I didn't particularly like (actually I didn't really like any of the characters . . .)? Well, here is a whole list of one hundred unlikable characters (but 'must read' novels nonetheless).
Wondering what you should read next? Here's a quiz to guide the way. Apparently I should pick up Virginia Woolf (but then I knew that already).
So, this is probably not something I would buy for myself (or maybe I would . . .), but it is too fun and I can imagine buying it for a friend. A "serial spoon" for your cereal. Ar ar ar. (Or maybe I should say crunch, crunch, crunch).
The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware is being adapted to film. Now where is my copy anyway? (Actually I know where it is, but I don't know where all my reading time has gone lately).
I'm feeling very much (even more than normal) out of the bookish loop these days. Life has been busy and work is entering a very hectic, crazy mode which means less time to think about blogging let alone reading. So, do share what you have been up to--what are you reading or keeping busy with? Or what you want to read or plan to do in the coming months. I'm still chipping away at the stack of books you see on my sidebar.
