Just curious.
Maybe I am not discerning enough. I am probably not a very critical reader and am prone to like stories more than not. I keep coming back to this question over and over in my uncertainty. I know I just need to be an unapologetic reader (or viewer in the case of films).
Do you ever have your heart set on reading something or watching something, and even before you get started you read a very critical review, maybe even a bad review of a work. Does it diminish your enjoyment of the work when you do read it? Do you even change your mind about reading something, or persevere irregardless.
Even criticism by the 'experts' must be subjective, right?
Just curious what you think.
