I could use a champagne cocktail now and forget about the virus madness! All of these sound great and I think I may have a Frances Fyfield book in my stacks. Looking forward to seeing pictures of your new cross-stitch project!

The Stranger Diaries was one of my top 3 reads in 2019. So captivating, so alluring, so hard to put down. I have recommended it to many friends who loved it as well. The next book, in what seems is a series, will be published in October 2020. Title: Postscript Murder.

It's ages since I read the Dud Avocado but it I remember accurately it's a fun read! and it's possible to see it's influence on other authors.
Wishing you some enjoyable reads..and thanks for the Frances Fyfield link that's caught my interest!

"Shadows on the Mirror" jumped out at me because that was the first Frances Fyfield novel I ever read, too. It didn't turn out to be one of my favorites of hers, so don't give up on her if this one doesn't work well for you.

Your friend may have mentioned, but it not, Frances Fyfield is the pen name of Frances Haggarty. She has written good books under the Haggarty name, too, if you have time to look at those.

Imagine writing a book and calling it 'The Dud Avocado'!

I looked it up and instantly added it to my TBR.

Kathy A Johnson

I have not read any of these, but already had the Elly Griffiths on my TBR list. Someday, I hope, I'll be able to check out books from the library again! And all I had to do was read the rist sentence of the description of The Dud Avocado to want to read it RIGHT NOW. Sorry for yelling. I got excited.

I've been digging into my own green spines lately, too, now that I'm forced to focus on my own shelves ever more diligently. Hope you find some good reads in your May stacks!
